Parties and celebrations always connote excess and indulgence. And why not? These are occasions after all that allows you to just let go and enjoy yourself. But why not be health-conscious even during celebratory events? A no-sugar party celebration is not a bad idea, especially when you want everyone (including those with health issues) to have a good time. There are many no-sugar recipes out there, more than enough for anyone to put together a no-sugar party. Here are a couple of them.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g minced pork
  • One lightly beaten egg
  • One tsp crushed fennel seeds
  • One grated carrot
  • One grated and drained zucchini
  • One thinly sliced onion
  • One tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 sheets defrosted butter puff pastry
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

Start by preheating the oven to 180 degrees C. While heating oil in a pan on low-medium heat, add thinly sliced onion and cook until transparent. Afterward, mix in fennel seeds and garlic. Then, add this to a bowl with minced pork, zucchini, carrot, pepper, and salt. Cut each sheet of puff pastry in half and place one-fourth of the pork mixture in the middle. Shape into a long sausage. Carefully apply the whisked egg to the pastry. Fold the sides of the pastry into the center very firmly. Slice into 6 equal parts and place in a baking tray. Finally, apply the egg mixture again and drizzle some sesame seeds. Repeat the process with the rest of the puff pastry and put in the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes until your sausage rolls are golden and puffed in appearance.

Enjoy with a cheesy dip or a spicy dip. Tomato ketch-up also works well.

Sprinkle some of your favorite dressings on top, decorate the tray and make your stomach happy.

Guiltless Chicken Nugget: No-Sugar Delicacy

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 chicken breasts (to be cut to nuggets)
  • One free-range egg
  • One tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion dried
  • One tsp salt and a dash of pepper
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions:

Cut chicken into nugget-sized pieces. Using a large plastic bag, combine all the ingredients (except for chicken and egg) and set aside. Meanwhile, beat the egg thoroughly and mix with chicken pieces. Afterward, place the chicken and egg in the plastic bag full of ingredients and shake to coat nuggets. Heat a large saucepan to medium-high heat and place two tablespoons of coconut oil. Place the chicken on the pan, stirring it often to the point that it browns. Add coconut oil if needed to prevent drying. Once golden, cool, and serve.

Before serving, sprinkle some paprika and oregano on top it. Serve it with a sweet cheese dip or a spicy cheese dip and enjoy the taste of your homemade nuggets.
