Best Breakfast For Diabetics

Best Breakfast For Diabetics

As a person with diabetes, I am not sure that I would prefer a simple and low carb breakfast. It is true that low carb is better for the overall health of people with diabetes but what is best for you is not necessarily best for the diabetic.

Well, I’ve tried most of the low carb foods and of all the favorites breakfast, oatmeal seems to be the worst one. It does not have much flavor and it is quite thick and takes a lot of time to make. It just seems to be a bad idea.

Great & Healthy Breakfast

Fortunately, there are many ways to eat a great and healthy breakfast. I do recommend that people who have diabetes eat protein-rich breakfast so they can get their daily dose of proteins.

I have many friends who also have this condition and they all have different types of breakfast for their diabetics. They do not want to give the wrong impression that protein-rich breakfast for diabetics is a bad thing.

I am pretty sure that the best way to go about this is to have some sort of whole grain or high fiber breakfast. Breakfast can start your day right!

Grab Special Brand

When you do get out of bed, you can always grab a special brand of pancake mix or muffin. Since I have had diabetes for several years now, I have had to try various kinds of mixes and muffins for the morning meal. I now think that the good old muffin is the best choice.

I think there is no doubt that the great taste of a good muffin or pancakes is a great way to start the day. Some people may not like the taste of a fresh pancake so a pancake mix is a great alternative. It is much easier to make a delicious and yummy breakfast with a pancake mix of ingredients.

If you would like to experiment with the flavor of pancake mix ingredients, here are a few things to try. A lemon flavor could be very nice with some banana-flavored batter, egg whites with egg substitute, and with honey.

If you don’t want to add anything else to the pancake mix, try mixing up some low carb pancakes. I know many diabetics have loved the taste of these delicious pancakes. Low carb or even low-fat pancakes make a wonderful breakfast that you can enjoy any time of the day.

Of course, I am not saying that people with diabetes do not enjoy pancakes so if you do enjoy them too, that is great. Just make sure that you choose a low carb pancake mix or low carb pancake ingredients as your best breakfast for diabetics.

As I mentioned above, some people will choose to have regular pancakes instead of the low carb pancakes. If you like regular pancakes but are not sure what to put in them, try mixing up cinnamon sugar pancakes or banana cream pancakes.

Wrapping Up

These are just a few ideas to get you started on a healthy meal for diabetics. I highly recommend making healthy choices for your breakfast so you can enjoy your favorite food each and every morning.
